Taftie Academy Training “Foresight” 3 & 4 December 2025, Brussels

Finland Futures Research Centre is offering a two-day foresight training for TAFTIE Agencies to be held in NCBR office Brussels, December 3rd and 4th 2025. The objective of the training is to give a solid, yet concise understanding on the field of futures studies and foresight, core foresight methods, and practical insight on applying foresight with particular emphasis it’s application in the fields of research and innovation. The training consists of lectures and exercises that give first-hand experience on applying foresight ideas. Finland Futures Research Centre (FFRC), part of the University of Turku, is one of the largest academic institutions in the world for foresight and futures studies with a history dating back to 1992. FFRC provides both graduate and doctoral degrees in futures studies; in 2024, the institute has celebrated the completion of its 100th M.Sc. in Futures Studies. FFRC also provides standing services to the Committee for the Future at the Parliament of Finland and takes part in numerous national and European research projects and foresight projects. For example, FFRC is a partner in the European consortium Foresight on Demand II with a foresight framework contract with DG Research and Innovation. FFRC also leads a work package on foresight training in the Horizon Europe-project the Eye of Europe which seeks to coordinate national R&I administrations and agencies into an enlarged R&I foresight community in the European Research Area (ERA). The planned training session for TAFTIE Academy is influenced by a recent pilot training session attended by R&I policy experts from 13 national ERA administrations and a representative of DG RTD. Registration will close 2 weeks before the event or when a maximum of participants is reached. The event has reached 31 registrations and was closed for registration.
